Part 1 architectural assistant
“ It all began when I moved from the UK, and back to my home country Norway, after my graduation of 2022. I was fortunate to be given a position as an assistant at the architectural firm RAM Arkitektur, which is located in Lillehammer, Norway.
Working within a semi large but definitely an up-and-coming practice/firm, allowes me to absorb the knowledge about the profession, and has given me the insights and realisation of everything that is put into the role of an architect. During my time as of now I was shown the documentation and digital information behind each project and how everything is organised and the steps to have all the documents and information that is needed. I very soon came to realise the extent of information that supports the work, and the importance of keeping order of such large amount of digital content.
I have been very much involved in the projects and task I have been assigned to, and keeping that order, they had set up. And all the different programs and tools they used, such as AutoCAD, Revit and Rhino, was very important that I got a hang of. And when I started to have a base set of knowledge from the internal mechanics and ways of the studio and tools, I was very keen to show my skills and let my collegues understand how I could contribute to the wider team.
These are only a few of the projects I was involved with.”
